The home of magic on the disc and indeed the home of magic practitioners, and students. At one point in the discs history magic was uncontrolled and made up as people went along. After a while these Sorcerers set up towers against each other and hurled huge amounts of raw magic around the Disc. The U.U is a building in Ankh-Morpork and at the same time a much larger building somewhere else, making the dimensions inside seem a lot greater than the dimensions outside. On the university grounds is the tallest building in Ankh-Morpork which is the tower of art.
All lectures in the U.U are carried out in the same room which no-one has been able to find yet, however lectures obviously take place as they are on the time-table, the fact that no-one attends them is merely a technicality.
No-One including many of the wizards really knows all of the U.U however it seems quite obvious that there is a library there with a large domed roof. The library is a very dangerous place as even normal books distort time and space due to the knowledge contained within them, magic book cause quite disturbing effects, and also seem to have a life of their own.
The librarian an orangutan is an expert at negotiating L-space the distortion caused by the books and although it is against the rules of librarians has even influenced the outcome of things that have already happened using his expertise.
